![]() Team Jets produced an excellent performance today in their away match against Tameside. The visitors were ahead at times against unbeaten League Leaders Tameside, and winning the first and last quarters. However, they just missed out on the win with a slower 3rd quarter to last year's runners up with the match finishing 55 v 51 but achieved an extra bonus point. "The girls played out of their socks in the first half...it was phenomenal" said Coach Linda Andrews. "Our passing and moving was good, our errors were minimal and the shooters were on fire - we gave them a bit of a shock I think. But they upped the ante in the third quarter, after being 29 v 27 down at half-time, and we lost momentum." Despite regrouping to win the last quarter it wasn't enough to make up for the 3rd quarter deficit. Tameside 12,27,44,55 Team Jets 14,29,37,51 - POM Lynsey Pitman (GA) Squad: Lauren Devine, Josie Le Masurier, Nicole Goddard, Georgia Hickey, Jacy Brown, Abbie Hazley, Jenna Murphy, Lynsey Pitman, Sophie Holmes and Rosie Tonner Congratulations to Team Jets after they secured their first win of the season in their 4th match and 2nd home fixture. In front of a home crowd Jets lead from the off to take a good 4 goal lead at the end of the first quarter. During the 3rd quarter Grangetown upped the anti and with them taking an injury time break Team Jets took the opportunity to bring Ebony Troy on at GK and Georgia Hickey on at WD. Jets continued to battle hard and whilst the fourth quarter started with the original team failing to capitalise on some excellent interceptions from GK Josie Le Masurier and GD Lauren Devine, though with Grangetown also struggling to convert it wasn't long before Jets finally got the goal to a create momentum and take them through to the end with the crowd roaring with excitement.
