Team Jets Player of the Year 2015/2016

At the Jersey Netball Association's Dinner and Awards Presentation Lauren Devine was named Team Jets Player of the Year. In the lead up to the presentation Coach Linda Andrews said "This was a difficult choice this year with many players receiving the same amount of votes from their fellow team mates". Leaving the coaches to decide they were forced to review the contenders.  "This player goes the extra mile – not only at game time, but at training, ensuring everyone, team mates and training partners alike are aware of what is going on and the expectations required to be a Jet.  She leads by example both on and off the court with such a positive attitude.  She is well organised, motivated and an excellent leader."

Team Jets Players were also the recipients of the following Jersey Netball Association Awards:

Best Senior Player - Jacy Brown
Jacy is one of the most exciting players to watch. Her motivation to succeed and produce exceptionally high performances not only for herself but her team is always at the forefront of her agenda. She continually strives to develop and learn new skills and her execution lights up many games with precision balls into her shooters and flying interceptions to regain possession. I am sure you will agree this player deserves to be named SPOTY.

Best Junior Player - Tallula Norman
Tallula has continued where she left off last season striving to improve herself in every session. Her commitment to practice her individual skills outside of training and her desire to be the best she can is commendable. She was a main player in the successful under 16 Team Jets and regularly attended NSW RA and more recently was selected to attend NPFL training. One of the highlights of her year was wearing the Blue and Gold of Team Bath and playing in the game preceding the Team Bath SuperLeague game. She is spoken of very highly by the coaches at the High Performance Unit in Bath and by the coaches who work with her at home.

Winner of the Lynjax Award - Ebony Troy.
The Lynjax Award presented by Linda Andrews and Jackie Nelson is given to a young person who goes the extra mile and gives something back to netball. With the extra demands placed on young people with school work it is often difficult for them to find additional time but for the first time we have decided to give the award to Ebony Troy for the second year running. This young person gives generously of her time, not only playing for her Club but training and getting valuable court time with Jets this season. She actively umpires for her Club and her school and has gained her Beginner Award this year. She coaches at after-school classes and the holiday courses with Netball Development. She always has a beaming smile and a kind, supportive word to say.
